About the Teacher

Hello! My name is Ms. Coyle, and here are a few facts about me.

• I graduated from Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia, with a bachelor's degree in English Literature and Writing and a master's degree in Teaching.
• Middle school grades are the best grades to teach, in my humble opinion.
• Like any English nerd, picking a favorite book is difficult. A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness, A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving, Wings by E.D. Baker, and the Lunar Chronicles series by Marissa Meyer are a few of my favorites.
• I have lived in Virginia for most of my life, except for the two and a half years spent in the country of the Philippines.
• I decided to teach English because reading and writing are two of the most important skills a young person can have in the modern world. Students will need to create resumes, read contracts, communicate with colleagues and customers in the business world, and move up in the world - no matter which profession they choose!
